	i thought the queen would be a boring movie , so i kept postpone watching it. but it wasn't! i was not bad or boring at all . no wonder it won many awards.
	how come this movie has the exactly same title as the book i read a couple years ago?
	after watching flags of our fathers and the letters from iwo jima, i realized they're the same movie. just from different point of view (american & japanese). they even produced and directed by the same people.
	i got the dvd of arthur et les minimoys and tried to watch it. but it was bad bad bad . is it supposed to be a good movie?

you're on traveling.
your airplane just landed, you walk into the airport building, waiting for your luggage on the conveyor belt, then this is tough... all luggages are looked like yours. they're all black!

a couple days ago, i complained about indonesian movies rarely have beautiful images. we watched kala last weekend and i found the one . i read the blog of the movie months before the movie is released. i predicted it'll be something like wong kar wai's, but i was totally wrong. the set, the angles, and the colors were awesome . it set sometimes in the past but even we were not really sure when and where, we didn't really care. the story is something mystical and a bit scary (i'm not the horror

movie type and cowo gondrong dibedakin is scary!). after apocalypto and pan's labyrinth, this is the third violence movie i watched lately.

this is not the kind of movie for everyone. there were only 12 people inside the theatre even it was saturday night. but if you can enjoy kill bill style of movie or you admire picturesque scenes , please give kala a chance.

ps: the shooting location was in semarang. i passed the city many times but never really explore it. maybe i should drop by there sometimes.

two movies from books i read:

perfume: the story of a murderer

this is a german movie, but the languange is english, the set is in france, but the filming location was in spain. i read the book last january, not too impress by it and didn't expect much from the movie. but then, even some parts of the book is deleted in the movie, i realized the movie help me better to imagine the book. and in my imagination, grenouille wasn't that good looking . so this is good, hehe.

the mistress of spice

i read the book a loooong time ago, so i didn't remember the detail story anymore. all i remember was, i didn't like the ending (but i forgot how was the ending in the book). the beautiful aishwarya rai is here, as tilo, the main character. what i love the most from the movie is the spice shop! i think it would be a really nice feeling to be in a place with colorful exotic spices.

if everyone has their own spice, what's my spice?

i made muffin last weekend.
it supposed to be cappucino muffin but ended up taste more like chocolate muffin. but the appearance doesn't look bad . at least for first timer like me .

3 reasons i wanted to watched blood & chocolate: i love the poster , the set is in bucharest , and it has something to do with chocolate . most movie set in romania is usually about vampire and in transylvania, but this one is about werewolf and in bucharest.

	i like the opening scene, a little girl dancing in the snow, showing from above .
	according to this movie, werewolf can change whenever they want, not just during the full moon.
	agnes bruckner is the same girl that played in dreamland.
	it's from a book, but i didn't read the book
	why most indonesian movies can't have awesome pictures like this one or 300? even nagabonar jadi 2 dissapointed me. the story is ok but the pictures are nothing special at all .
	this movie is playing at blitz megaplex now.

one of my photograph is exhibited in musée de l'elysée, lausanne, switzerland for we are all photographers now! the photo was taken on april 24, 2004 in garuda wisnu kencana, bali.

ninit borrowed me a book: a father's affair by karel van loon. when i scanned through the pages of the book, i just realized the book has big font, which is a big relieve after reading the inheritance of loss or on beauty. the book is a simple, calm story about a father who just found out the his son is not his biological son. he couldn't ask his wife because the wife died 10 years ago, so the whole book is about looking for the real father and about the memory of the wife.

this is a lovely book to read . and if you're just too lazy to read the english (or the original dutch) version, don't worry, because the book is already translated into indonesian.
